Dr. Scott Turner is a neurology nurse practitioner at Children’s Hospital of Alabama and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics with the Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He co-directs the headache program at Children's Hospital and has over 20 years of advanced practice experience in pediatric neurology. He earned a bachelor of science in Biology from Trenton State (College of New Jersey), a bachelor and a masters of science in nursing from Emory University, and a doctor of nursing practice from the University of Colorado. His scholarship focuses on the measurement and reduction of migraine-related disability in children and adolescents. He is an active member of the American Headache Society where he led the task force that developed the Pediatric Migraine Action Plan and co-led the development of the First Contact in Primary Care-Pediatrics education program. He was awarded the American Headache Society’s Leadership Education in Advocacy Development fellowship (2023-2025) and has served on the AHDA Policy Committee since 2024.
