Nina Riggins, MD, PhD, FAAN, FAHS, FANA is a Board-certified Neurologist at the Headache Center of Excellence (HCoE), Palo Alto, California. She is a UCNS certified Headache Specialist. Dr Riggins is a member of UCNS headache medicine examination committee. Dr. Riggins completed her Internal Medicine internship at Texas Tech University, and her neurology residency at Penn State Medical Center. She completed her clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the State University of New York, Buffalo and headache medicine fellowship at the University California, San Francisco. She then progressed in her professional career to the associate professor at the UCSF and then at the UCSD. She led Headache center at the UCSD and Headache Center at The Neuron Clinic in San Diego. Her research and publications are centered around new treatment options for patients with primary and secondary headache disorders. She is a Social Media editor of the International Headache Society Journals, Cephalalgia and Cephalalgia Reports. Dr Riggins is a Vice Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Headache & Facial pain section and Co-Chair of the First Contact Program of American Headache Society. She is a Chair of the Women’s Health Special Interest Group at the American Headache Society and a Vice Chair of the BrainPAC of the American Academy of Neurology. She is devoted to advocacy and is a board member of the “Miles for Migraine”. Dr Riggins is a Director of Women in Neurology (WNG) CME Education. Dr Riggins is a Chair of the Headache and Pain Section of the American Neurological Association (ANA).
