Nancy Harris Bonk is a patient leader and advocate who has been working with people living with migraine and headache disease since 2005. Nancy is a moderator/contributor at Migraine.com providing support, community and education on migraine and headache disease. She is the COO/VP of Chronic Migraine Awareness, Inc. and serves on the Board of Directors of The Alliance for Headache Disorders. Nancy is on the National Headache Foundation’s Patient Leadership Council and a member of CHAMP – Coalition for Headache and Migraine Patients.
Living with intractable pain from a concussion in 1996 and raising her children, Nancy was searching for support and in 2003 joined the About.com (now Remedy Health/Health Central) migraine discussion forum. In 2005 she became a moderator and from 2007 - 2013 was a Health Guide and Community Manager at Remedy Health/Health Central.
In 2011 Nancy joined Health Union’s first site, Migraine.com, as a contributor/moderator. In April 2011, she founded the Western New York Migraine and Headache Disorder Support Group, the first local in person migraine and headache disorder support group in Buffalo, N.Y. Nancy continues to serve as a U.S Pain Foundation Pain Ambassador Ambassador and continues to represent them at live events.
Nancy lives in Albany, N.Y. When she’s not advocating for people with migraine and headache disease and partnering with other patient leaders, she enjoys baking, quilting, and spending time with family.
